Advance Directives

At Williamson Memorial, our goal is to improve the quality of our patients’ care by providing information to patients and families so they can make informed choices and their wishes respected.

Advance Directives or “Living Wills” are legal documents outlining a patient’s general wishes for medical care. These are completed in advance" of becoming too sick to make decisions for yourself. Advance directives are recommended for everyone age 18 and older (including mature and emancipated minors).

Williamson Memorial honors each patient’s right to make health care decisions about end-of-life care, including but not limited to withholding resuscitative services and forgoing or withdrawing life-sustaining ventilator treatment.
